GPS satellites are going to fail and cause navigation problems all over the world.

Here's another one with a little bit of truth to it. However, the biggest problem was in the older GPS receivers, not the satellites. GPS receivers keep track of the weeks, counting from 1 to 1024, all from a defined starting date.

Near the end of August 1999, the 1024th week was reached and the GPS receivers were supposed to roll back to 1. However, the older receivers weren't properly programmed to do this, and many of them stopped working if they weren't upgraded in time.

But the problem already happened. It's over. Did international shipping stop? No.
