Y2K: The Winter of Our Disconnect?

There was a real threat discovered when an Algerian man was arrested near the Canadian-Washington state border with bomb-making materials. Seattle canceled its big celebration party, but other parties around the country and world continued without any major incidents.

The End
A new Dark Age will engulf the world, or a Y2K-triggered nuclear war will wipe out everything but the cockroaches.

I'm most confident about the error in this prediction. Many parts of civilization may be in slow decline, but overall, we all survived the shift in digits.

[bob in cafe]During the week after Y2K: The Winter of Our Disconnect? first aired, I received about 700 heated emails, mostly from survivalists and other people expecting a disasterous New Years. They told me I was doing a terrible disservice to America by downplaying the potential problems from the Y2K bug. Interestingly enough, I haven't heard from any of these people after January 1st.

I hope these people aren't disappointed civilization didn't end on January 1st. Instead, I hope they keep their store of food and supplies and maybe help their neighbors if a real natural disaster occurs.
