My story began with my mother Lula Samules, of Memphis Tennessee. She
is truly a true lover of quilting. She began quilting as a child in Crawford
Mississippi at age of 8.
Being the next to the oldest child of 15 sisters and brothers, she was
often sent home to prepare the evening meals for the family. At that time
her mother hung her quilt from the ceiling in order to quilt it.
Upon getting the meal ready she would let the quilt down from the ceiling
and pratice. Oftentimes her mother would come home and check the quilting
the next day and if she didn't like it, she would pull the stitching out.
I guess that why my mother's stitching is perfect now. You know any
of her quilts anywhere, anyplace by the stitching done by hand.
I wish you were still accepting photographs but thanks for reading and
listening.
