Matthew Testa
Producer/Director/Cinematographer
THE BUFFALO WAR is Matthew Testa's first feature documentary. He has worked on other documentary productions for New York Times Television, National Geographic, Showtime, The Discovery Channel and PBS and for numerous independent producers. In 1995 he co-produced and directed Bill Briggs: Teton Pioneer for ABC. Prior to working in film, Testa was a newspaper reporter and editor in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where he first became familiar with the buffalo story. He is currently working as a freelance producer in addition to developing new film projects.
Bernadine Colish
Editor
Bernadine Colish has edited both television and independent documentaries. Much of her work has appeared on Nova and American Experience. She recently edited the American Masters documentary "Ella Fitzgerald: Something To Live For," directed by Charlotte Zwerin. She worked with John Cage on his last film One and 103 and edited the documentary film Beautopia, directed by Katharina Otto, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Her last project, "Say It Loud - Freedom Songs," part one in a five part series on the history of black music in America, is being shown on VH1 this fall.
Marcelo Zarvos
Composer
Marcelo Zarvos has written for the concert stage, film, television and dance. Among his recent scores are the Academy Award-nominated short film A Soccer Story, the critically acclaimed The Truth about Tully and a collaboration with Eumir Deodato in the film Bossa Nova. Recent projects include the ballet score The Path, which received its premiere in 2001 at the Joyce Theater in New York City, a commission from the Guggenheim Museum in conjunction with their Fall 2001 exhibit, and music for the upcoming film Kissing Jessica Stein.
Bryan Gunnar Cole
Supervising Producer
Bryan Gunnar Cole earned his BA in Film Studies from Yale University in 1987. After college, he co-founded Annex Theatre, an experimental theatre in Seattle, Washington. Bryan's theatrical producing credits also include a musical adaptation of the film classic Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. In 1998, Cole earned his MFA from New York University's Kanbar Institute of Film and Television. As an editor Bryan has documentary, feature, and television credits including the feature Some Fish Can Fly, the documentary program Eden, and the award-winning documentary The Sunshine. Cole has produced two films for National Geographic Television (Street Dogs, The Crows), and his current documentary feature BoomTown will be released in 2001.
Lloyd Fales
Supervising Producer
Lloyd Fales produced and wrote Legendary Lighthouses: Eastern Great Lakes for Oregon Public Broadcasting & Driftwood Productions, which aired nationally on PBS. Fales has also worked as a producer, writer and videographer for BBC, the Disney Channel, Martha Stewart Omnimedia, Travel Channel and the National Audubon Society.
