Ramesses II smites his enemies

1279 BC - Ramesses II defeats the Hittites
Ramesses II 20,000 strong army narrowly defeats the Hittites at the Battle of Kadesh. He then presents the victory as a great personal triumph show in hieroglyphs on the walls of Karnak.
