Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will provide an update April 6 on how the state is responding to the novel coronavirus outbreak. As of April 5, the state had more than 15,000 reported cases of COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus. More than 600 Michigan residents have died from the virus.

Gov. Whitmer's remarks are expected to begin at 10:15 a.m. EDT. Watch them in the player above.
