The state's lieutenant governor spoke to a crowd of supporters who awaited Election Day results for hours. The Associated Press called the race for Fetterman shortly after.

"We jammed them up. We held the line. I never expected that we would turn these red counties blue, but we did what we needed to do and we had that conversation across every one of those counties," Fetterman said.

After Fetterman had a stroke in May, his doctor released a note in October saying the candidate has made strides in recovering from the health scare. As is common for people who have had strokes, he is still working to regain his speech, which was evident in his lone debate against Oz last month.
