Following a preliminary prayer and pledge, senators will be sworn in by groups of four. Following that, there will be some housekeeping items before Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., deliver their prepared remarks.
