I'm making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @katiedippold & yes, it will star hilarious women. That's who I'm gonna call. — Paul Feig (@paulfeig) October 8, 2014 Wiig and McCarthy worked together under Feig’s direction in “Bridesmaids.” Feig also collaborated with McCarthy in “The Heat” and the upcoming film, “Spy.” Jones and McKinnon are cast members together on Saturday Night Live — as were original Ghostbusters Bill Murrary and Dan Aykroid. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Feig emphasized that he isn’t interested in remaking the beloved 1984 original. The new movie will follow the basic premise of ghost-catching parapsychologists, but the plotline will exist independently of the other two movies in the franchise. We're not going anywhere.
