Off Book explores graphic design: “Though often overlooked, Graphic Design surrounds us: it is the signs we read, the products we buy, and the rooms we inhabit. Graphic designers find beauty within limitations, working towards the ultimate goal of visually communicating a message. Utilizing a language of type and imagery, graphic designers try to make every aspect of our lives defined and beautiful.”

From KCET, Artbound Episode 3: “Artbound explores the arts and culture of Southern California through articles, essays, and thinkpieces by more than 30 contributors in 11 counties. These correspondents cover cultural happenings in the communities where they live, providing an inside look at art across the region. Then the Artbound audience votes online for an article to be made into a short online video. Those videos are then assembled into a broadcast television show.”

Next up for American Masters: the Joffrey. Here’s a trailer for “Joffrey: Mavericks of American Dance,” which premieres Dec. 28 on PBS. “JOFFREY: MAVERICKS OF AMERICAN DANCE tells the story of the first quintessentially American dance company, the Joffrey Ballet. The film traces the company’s struggles and triumphs: from its humble beginnings in 1956, touring the United States in a borrowed station wagon, to becoming one of the world’s most exciting and prominent ballet companies.”
