It’s been 40 years since Garry Trudeau first started to pen “Doonesbury”, a comic strip that has entertained and provoked readers as a chronicle of the baby-boom generation, part sharp political commentary, part very funny comic strip. In 1975 Trudeau became the first comic-strip artist to win the Pulitzer Prize for his Watergate cartoons. Decades later, he’s brought new attention to the valor and suffering of contemporary war veterans.
