About Richard @rlcoolidge

Richard is a senior producer for PBS NewsHour and a senior member of the editorial team, helping to manage, plan and produce daily news and feature content for the broadcast, as well as for digital and social media platforms.

He serves as a critical liaison to our growing list of partners, including PBS stations, non-profit journalism organizations and other media organizations with whom PBS NewsHour has formed a content sharing arrangement.

Prior to joining the NewsHour, Richard spent 26 years at ABC News, producing stories around the country and around the world, including coverage of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and crises in other global hotspots such as Pakistan, Yemen and Darfur. He produced stories from the field during four presidential campaign cycles and covered political, national security and foreign affairs stories during the Bush and Obama administrations. He also acted as the creative force behind the design, execution and production of multi-media content.

Richard's work has generated award winning content for broadcast and online. Richard has earned three George Foster Peabody awards, two Alfred I. duPont awards, three Emmy awards, and one Edward R. Murrow award. For online work, he has been a Webby Honoree three times.

Richard is a graduate of Middlebury College and is an avid skier and outdoorsman.
