Supreme Court overturns century-old gun law, allows firearms in most public places

Summary

Summary: The U.S. Supreme Court Thursday struck down a century-old New York gun law restricting the carrying of concealed firearms -- except in "sensitive" areas like courthouses and schools -- which could lead to more guns on the streets. The decision is the first major gun ruling in a decade and expands the right to carry a gun outside the home. The ruling has far-reaching implications across the country, and comes as recent mass shootings have renewed the debate over gun safety measures. For a transcript of the story, click here .
