A Profit Motive for BP?

Question: There is a fortune in oil under the gulf and BP has already put a lot of time, effort and money into getting it. They would be crazy to just cap it if they can get it to a refinery, that’s their real motive.

Paul Solman: Wait just a second. Are you suggesting that BP is PURPOSELY not capping the leak? A leak whose damages – in terms of legal liability alone – threatens the very existence of the company? Uh, how do I put this delicately? “I doubt it.”
