Paul Solman: Jose Antonio Martinez Soler is a distinguished Spanish journalist who was tortured in the last year of the Franco dictatorship. (Those who read Spanish will find a not insubstantial bio here.) He and journalist wife Ana Westley are also old friends from a year in the late 1970s that we spent together on a journalism fellowship. So when headed to Spain to report on its economy, their home was the first port of call.
