Geithner: Past Policy Choices, Politics Making It Harder to Fix U.S. Economy

In a newsmaker interview with Jim Lehrer, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said Wednesday afternoon that economic policy decisions made before this administration took office — and the current political climate — are teaming up to make it harder to fix the U.S. economy.

But even though it will take longer for the U.S. to dig out of the current crisis, there are some reasons to be optimistic about the future of the American economy – most notably, growth in private sector jobs.
