Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou on the Financial Crisis

Editor’s Note: Tonight on the NewsHour, Paul Solman reports on how the people of Greece are responding to the austerity measures the country has imposed to deal with its debt crisis.

“Obviously we have a daunting […] prospect to change our economy, change our whole society I would say,” Prime Minister George Papandreou told the NewsHour. “I came in on a mandate of change. […] I think we’re seeing the birth pains of something very new.”
