Speaking before the Senate Finance Committee on Thursday, the secretary’s announcement adds 400,000 sign-ups to the President Barack Obama’s previous estimate of 7.1 million that he announced last week before the end of the open enrollment period. Health care sign-ups have exceeded expectations, but challenges remain for the law’s next enrollment season, including managing health insurance premiums that tend to increase every year, the Associated Press reports.
