Politico Reporter: President Will Say ‘I Want My Vote’ on Health Care Reform

President Obama is expected to announce his preferred way forward on health care reform Wednesday. Politico assistant managing editor for enterprise Jeanne Cummings stopped by the Rundown to speak to us about the president’s likely message and the challenges Democratic leaders in Congress face going forward. She says the president will likely emphasize the need for an “up-or-down” vote on reform, aiming to pave the way for passing a bill through reconciliation.

Cummings also discussed Kentucky Republican Sen. Jim Bunning’s effort to single-handedly block a Senate bill that would extend jobless benefits — an effort she said is angering other Republicans.
