Angry HealthCare.gov users took out anger on ‘face’ of website

President Barack Obama isn’t the only person feeling the heat from HealthCare.gov’s troubles.

The woman, whose smile greeted the website’s visitors, told ABC News’ “Good Morning America” Wednesday that she has been the target of cyberbullying.

“I mean, I don’t know why people should hate me because it’s just a photo,” the woman in the photo, identified as “Adriana” by ABC News, said. “I didn’t design the website. I didn’t make it fail, so I don’t think they should have any reasons to hate me.”

Adriana is a Colombian citizen who lives in Maryland, married to a U.S. citizen and mother of a 21-month-old son. She also said she was applying for citizenship. And though she’s eligible to apply for health care through the Affordable Care Act, “Adriana says that she hasn’t signed up for it, and is neither in favor nor against it,” ABC News reports.

Adriana has been the subject of ridicule by people on social media such as Twitter and has been repeatedly lampooned online and on television shows, including “The Colbert Report,” since the insurance exchange website’s botched launch on Oct. 1.

Adriana remained anonymous after her picture was removed from HealthCare.gov at the end of October.
