Griving relatives attend the funeral for Kenyan journalist Ruhila Adatia-Sood in Nairobi.
In Kenya, more funerals were held Thursday for the 76 victims of Saturday’s four-day assault on a Nairobi mall, as police continue to sift through the wreckage for dozens still missing.
The Kenyan Red Cross said that 61 people are still unaccounted for, thought to be among the rubble after the shopping mall’s floors collapsed.
Meanwhile, al-Shabab, the Islamic extremist group that claimed responsibility for the shooting, attacked two Kenyan towns Thursday near the Somali border, killing three. They released an online statement Wednesday promising an “abundance of blood” if Kenyan forces are not withdrawn from Somalia.
