U.S. Customs and Border Protection gave Key West the go ahead to fly to the Caribbean island nation two years ago, but charter flight operators have run into problems receiving all of the necessary approvals from authorities in Cuba and the United States. According to the director of Key West International Airport, customs officials signed off on the nine-passenger flight early Monday morning. No future commercial flights have been planned for now.
