The protest will also coincide with the 34th anniversary of the takeover of the former U.S. Embassy in Tehran. “Death to America” has been an important revolutionary slogan for Iranian hard-liners for decades and they are hoping to strengthen its message in song to further the point that many in Iran do not approve of President Hassan Rouhani’s outreach to the West. Hard-liners have criticized Rouhani’s attempt to to ease U.S.-Iranian estrangement and his willingness to discuss the country’s nuclear program with the West. We're not going anywhere.
