Ellis Island reopens to visitors

Ellis Island reopened Monday after being closed since Hurricane Sandy hit nearly a year ago. During the storm parts of Ellis Island were completely submerged underwater. While the Great Hall of Ellis Island is open, many artifacts remain in storage and other parts of Ellis Island are closed as repairs continue. Reporter Steve Sandberg from 1010 WINS radio (http://t.co/4OpjAiWTTI) in New York was one of the first people to visit Ellis Island Monday morning. Follow his journey through the reopened museum on Twitter.
