But now, users between the ages of 13 and 17 can share content with with anyone on Facebook — just like those 18 and older. The option to post publicly will require a manual setting change and teens will be given a reminder before they share. “While only a small fraction of teens using Facebook might choose to post publicly, this update now gives them the choice to share more broadly, just like on other social media services.” via Facebook Newsroom. This isn’t the only recent privacy settings change made by Facebook. Earlier this month, the social media site removed the setting: “Who can look up your Timeline by name?” The option allowed users to be unsearchable by name.
