District Court Judge Callie Granade told Judge Don Davis, from Alabama’s Mobile County Probate Court, to comply with her order to begin issuing same-sex marriage licenses despite calls from Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore for the state’s probate judges to ignore her directive. Judge Granade originally ruled in January to strike down the state’s ban on same-sex marriages. Judge Granade’s ruling officially took effect on Monday, making Alabama the 37th state to recognize same-sex marriage. We're not going anywhere.
