Watch a live stream in the player above from 1-5 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Thursday. All times EDT. Detroit Public Television and Great Lakes Now will host a three-day conference on the future of the Great Lakes. Topics will include everything from Algae blooms to invasive species to water levels. The Great Lakes Restoration Conference will attract close to 400 activists, government officials and business and industry leaders from across the region from Sept. 9-11 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. According to Great Lakes Now, one topic receiving a lot of attention this year will be the growing threat posed by plastics to plant and animal life, in addition to exploring the science, politics and the future of the Great Lakes.
