Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said at Thursday’s hearing for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who has accused him of sexual assault, that attorneys for additional women who have come forward with sexual misconduct allegations against Kavanaugh have been “stonewalling.” The Senate Judiciary Committee chairman said “at this time, we’ve not had cooperation from attorneys representing other clients. They’ve made no attempt to substantiate their claims,” he said. Michael Avenatti, an attorney representing one of the women, Julie Swetnick, said his client has demanded a chance to testify before the Senate panel and that the FBI launch an investigation into her allegations.
