Reid to revive non-discrimination legislation for Senate vote

In a bipartisan 15-7 vote earlier this summer, the Senate's Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee approved the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), a bill that would protect lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people from job discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. As MSNBC points out that while discrimination based on race, gender or religion is illegal, LGBT people remain vulnerable to workplace discrimination.

With senators now returning to issue, The Huffington Post reports that Majority Leader Harry Reid's office said that ENDA could come up for a Senate vote as early as next week.
