In a national survey of dating and relationships, Pew found that one in 10 Internet users--which is only nine percent of all American adults--have used an online dating site. That number is up from the three percent reported in 2008.
Among those online daters, 66 percent have gone on a date with someone they met through a dating website or app, and 23 percent have met long-term partners or spouses

Online dating is especially popular with the college-educated in their 20s through 40s.
