Meet Hurricane and Jordan, the dogs injured in White House jumper incident

The U.S. Secret Service Thursday tweeted out photos of the two dogs that sustained minor injuries from Wednesday’s White House fence jumper.

Hurricane and Jordan, both Belgian Malinois K-9 units for the Secret Service, rushed into action after Dominic Adesanya jumped the White House fence Wednesday night. Adesanya, unarmed, reportedly punched both dogs before being apprehended by Secret Service agents. The assault on Hurricane and Jordan resulted in two counts of assault on a police officer, among other charges, against the intruder, who was held without bond in front of a magistrate judge Thursday.

The dogs were treated at a veterinarian facility for minor bruising, Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan said, and both have since been cleared for duty.

The Secret Service stepped up deployment of canine units around the White House grounds in July as an effort to address changing threats.
