Stranded Cruise Ship Slowly Towed to Shore; Navy Airlifts Spam to Passengers

Passengers aboard the Carnival Splendor are headed, slowly, in the direction of San Diego after a fire onboard Monday, facing another uncomfortable day without air conditioning or hot food aboard the 113,000-ton ship.

The Coast Guard and Navy have been involved in providing necessary supplies for the 3,299 passengers.

As tugboats begin to tow it back to shore, the Coast Guard says everyone is safe, some relatives are concerned about loved ones stranded in uncomfortable conditions.
