THE FUTURE OF THE COURT WITH KAGAN | The Senate confirmed Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court Wednesday. Kagan will be the third female judge on the Supreme Court joining justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor. Ray Suarez looks into the future of the court with law professors Paul Butler of George Washington University and Nicholas Quinn Rosenkranz of Georgetown University.

AFTER RULING, WHAT’S NEXT FOR SAME-SEX MARRIAGE? | Celebrations broke out Tuesday in California when a judge overturned a ban on same-sex marriage, but there are still no wedding bells for gay couples hoping to tie the knot. Ray Suarez talks to Jennifer Pizer of the Lambda Legal Defense Fund and Robert George, founder of the American Principles Project.

CHEMO DRUGS COULD POSE DANGERS TO CAREGIVERS | As a part of NewsHour Connect, which showcases some of the best public broadcasting reporting from around the country, Enrique Cerna of KCTS in Seattle reports on the potential dangers of chemotherapy to caregivers who handle them.

UPDATE ON PAKISTAN FLOODS | The numbers of those affected by the floods in Pakistan have climbed to more than 4 million. The forecast is calling for heavy monsoon rains for the next three days.
