PBS NewsHour economic correspondent Paul Solman recently talked to some former interns about the worth of their internships. Some were frustrated over not being paid for work duties that they felt went beyond learning, others found the internships even unpaid, to be positive experiences, and some felt it was unfair to ask students to pay their respective schools to receive college credit for an internship. We bet that even if you don’t have an internship experience you have an opinion on them. So, we continued the conversation about internships on Twitter during #NewsHourChats at 1 p.m. EDT Thursday, Oct. 3. We talked about whether internships — paid or unpaid — are a valuable experience, why internships have become so widespread, your experiences with unpaid internships and more.
