Car bomb explodes in Lebanon
A bomb killed the former Lebanese ambassador to the U.S. in central Beirut. The bomb mangled cars and shredded trees, killing at least 6 and wounding more than 70.
Corruption fallout in Turkey
- A Turkish court blocked a new government requirement that police disclose investigations to superiors, suberting an attmept by the governemnt to put a lid on the growing corruption scandal.
Violence continues on South Sudan
The United Nations reports more than 120,000 have been displaced by violence.
- African leaders are meeting in Nairobi to develop a road map for peace talks between factions.
Attack in Afghanistan
- Three coalition soldiers were killed by suicide car bomb in Kabul, including one American.
