Here’s some of the news we’ll be following today. Philippines – Typhoon Recovery UN officials warned some islands have still not been reached by the relief effort. Operations in storm-torn areas are still a “logistical nightmare.” – A few markets and gas stations are reopening. The Phillipine government has set up a web site to track foreign relief contributions in a bid to overcome corruption. Midwest Storms Six people were killed, dozens injured, and scores of homes leveled by a barrage of tornadoes across the Midwest on Sunday. Southern Illinois was worst hit, while twisters also touched down in Indiana and Kentucky. The storm halted the Bears/Ravens game in Chicago and forced brief shutdowns at Chicago airports. Thousands are left without power. Health Care Thw Washington Post reported Sunday that the Obama administration’s goal is for 80% of users to be able to use the web site to enroll for insurance. On Sun., Pelosi said Democrats will not retreat from health care law despite political heat. * Australia – Surveillance* Indonesia recalled its ambassador from Australia after reports the Australian spy agency targeted the Indonesian president’s phones, Fukushima – Nuclear Plant Today, crews began removing damaged fuel rods from one of four rectors.
