From our coffees to yours, here is what we are watching this a.m. The United States government entered its first shutdown since 1995-96 after Congress failed to agree on a funding bill by midnight Monday. – The Senate convenes at 9:30 a.m. EDT and is expected to reject the latest bill from the House of Representatives that would delay the individual mandate of the Affordable Care Act. President Obama addressed the military in a video message, detailing the shutdown’s affects on the Defense department and assuring active servicemembers that they will be paid.
