But Republicans face something more: a torrent of questions about the words and actions President Donald Trump has unleashed while they've been gone. Beef How do you respond to cattle ranchers who say an already tough situation was just made harder for them? In an attempt to bring down beef prices, Trump sparked criticism from cattle country with a plan to temporarily import ground beef. He has since calmed some voices by giving ranchers more ability to process their meat. But that same move inflamed others, raising concerns about food safety. ICE What's the strategy for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement? Arrests by ICE soared to 50,000 in July, and many Republicans applauded that figure. But there is sharp debate over ICE's decision to buy thousands of electric shock gloves.
