Help Us Translate the 2013 State of the Union Address

Do you read or write in a language other than English? If so, the PBS NewsHour needs your help. Please join our all-volunteer captioning and translation team, and help us translate President Barack Obama’s 2013 State of the Union address and Sen. Marco Rubio’s Republican response.

The NewsHour believes that accessibility to the political conversation is vital. Captioning Obama’s address will help the deaf and the hard of hearing see the president’s goals for the coming year. Translating it into as many languages as possible will allow non-English speakers to participate in the larger conversation about the economy or gun control.
