Timothy Ray Murray lost Tuesday’s Republican primary in Oklahoma’s 3rd District with 5.2 percent of the vote. Incumbent Rep. Frank Lucas, R-Okla., sailed to victory with nearly 83 percent of the votes cast.
But Murray is challenging the results. The reason? He says Lucas is a body double, a cover-up of Lucas’ death by hanging more than three years ago in Ukraine.
Murray makes the claim in a press release on his website.
“I will be stating that his votes are switched with Rep. Lucas votes, because it is widely known Rep. Frank D. Lucas is no longer alive and has been displayed by a look alike. Rep. Lucas’ look-alike was depicted as sentenced on a white stage in southern Ukraine on or about Jan. 11, 2011.”
Oklahoma City’s KFOR reached out to Lucas, who asserted that he is still alive.
“I’ve never been to Ukraine,” Lucas told KFOR.
In a patriotic-themed treatise on his website, Murray pledges to never use a robot to represent Oklahoma.
“I will NEVER use Artificial Intelligence look alike to voice what The Representative’s Office is doing nor own a robot look alike. The World knows the truth, and We must always share the truth.”
Murray has until 5 p.m. CST today to file a petition with the Oklahoma state election board challenging the results.
