Dante Chinni wrote a new post this week as part of the Patchwork Nation project on the composition of tea parties around the country and the diverse set of issues that do — or do not — bring them together.
So we decided to check it out for ourselves in the second installment of Newshour Connect.
We spoke to Marcia Franklin of Idaho Public Television, Jennifer Moore from Ozarks Public Radio and Cathy Lewis from the Public station in Hampton Roads.
We selected these locations partly because they are different types of communities on the Patchwork Nation map, and so with different motivations, our reporters tell us what makes the tea parties in their communities tick. You can see a national map of tea party registration here.
