Obama calls on Boehner: ‘End this shutdown right now’

President Barack Obama warned Americans that the economy will suffer if a “reckless Republican shutdown” continues. At a construction company in Rockville, Md., Thursday, the president held his first press event outside the White House that focused on the shutdown. Many federal agencies partially or almost completely closed on Tuesday when Congress failed to pass a temporary spending bill to fund the government.
