In this week’s Political Checklist, I chatted with Ray Suarez about his piece on the NewsHour Friday about how the presidential campaigns are reaching out to Latino voters.
From the more traditional Spanish-language television and radio ads to social media pushes to attract younger Hispanics, the campaigns each have made it clear this is a demographic group they can’t ignore.
Ray pointed out the states with the largest populations of Latinos aren’t competitive (California, Texas and New York) but that many of the battlegrounds are so close who votes — and who doesn’t — could make all the difference on Nov. 6.
