Political Checklist: Congressional Debt Deadlock

In this week’s edition of the Political Checklist, Political Editor David Chalian tells Senior Correspondents Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff about viewing the 4th of July fireworks from the White House — and the upcoming fireworks that President Obama is watching even more closely.

With a little more than two weeks to go before the deadline on raising the debt ceiling, Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill are still in a deadlock.

Although lawmakers can’t seem to reach a consensus, David, Gwen and Judy agree that this will become a hot button issue as the race for the Republican Presidential nomination moves forward.
