Political Planking: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Shad

In a quick political debrief, congressional correspondent Kwame Holman spoke with me about his trip to rural Virginia to cover the annual “shad planking” event. Kwame noted in his blog post this week that it’s a longtime political tradition, but this year featured more Republicans than Democrats.

In addition to detailing the smoking process of the slimy, bony fish, we chatted about the importance of this type of retail politicking in the key battleground state.
