It’s one of Sanders’ largest post-election fundraising hauls during his primary fight against Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton. Sanders’ campaign spokesman Michael Briggs says it shows that the “people backing Bernie are charged up.” The money will help the Vermont senator as he prepares for advertising in upcoming states such as Wisconsin, New York and Pennsylvania. Clinton holds a large lead among pledged delegates but Sanders says those states and the California primary on June 7 offer him a path to compete for the Democratic nomination.
