Shields: Bayh’s Retirement Timing a ‘Recklessly Self-Centered’ Move

After snow and traffic prevented him from joining us on The Rundown last week, we managed to check in with columnist Mark Shields this week to get his take on the annual CPAC summit of conservatives and how the “recklessly self-centered” timing of Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh’s decision to not seek re-election puts Democrats in a bad situation to retain his seat.

Shields also spoke about the enduring lessons from one politician who wasn’t afraid to tell the voters what he really thought about them after they voted him out of office.
