Click here for some history on the event. Here’s footage of last year’s event. Apple and alternate Cider, both 21-week old, 45-pound turkeys were pardoned. The turkeys’ names were selected from submissions from California schoolchildren. They will live out their days on George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate in Virginia.
