WATCH: Cambridge Analytica whistleblower testifies before Senate

The Senate Judiciary Committee holds a hearing Wednesday on the future of data privacy following revelations that Cambridge Analytica gathered personal information from some 87 million Facebook users.

You can watch the hearing in the video above.

Whistleblower Christopher Wylie, who was the former director of research at Cambridge Analytica, will testify, along with Tufts University associate professor Eitan Hersh and University of Florida Public Utility Research Center director Mark Jamison.

Canada-born Wylie provided The Guardian newspaper with documents from Cambridge Analytica earlier this year, focusing on the consulting firm’s alleged unauthorized possession of personal data from over 85 million Facebook accounts.

The UK’s Channel 4 also screened undercover investigative videos showing CEO Alexander Nix discussing the use of techniques including honey traps to discredit politicians. Nix was subsequently suspended, and, earlier this month, the firm filed for insolvency.
