Dale Caldwell will be sworn in as the state's lieutenant governor. Caldwell, a pastor at Covenant United Methodist Church in Plainfield, has been president of Centenary University since 2023. Sherrill beat Republican challenger, former state Rep. Jack Ciattarelli, in the November gubernatorial election by about 14 percentage points. Sherrill will succeed Democratic Gov.
